Coaching with Kate Pearlman-Shaw
Kate is a highly experienced Executive Coach and Coaching Supervisor. She is a Chartered Coaching Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. She works 1-1 with senior leaders.
She began coaching when she was an NHS Clinical Psychologist while she ran the national leadership development programme for aspiring Clinical Psychologists. Since 2005 she’s continued to work with individual clients, coaching many senior leaders across a wide range of organisations and cultures. Since Kate is a behaviour change expert her coaching style and method reflects this. She will use psychological tools and models to help you understand your behaviours, the impact these have on other people and how to change them to have an even more effective impact. Her coaching style is empathic, caring and wholly focussed on you. She does bring new information and ideas into the sessions in a way that suits you, working together so that you can use those methods so that these make a big difference to you.
As Kate is also a Chartered Clinical Psychologist she can additionally offer ‘Therapeutic Coaching’, a method of coaching that goes deeper than usual forms of coaching.
Coaching is offered both through your organisation and privately.
Coaching Testimonials
A Senior Medical Regulator: “Despite having had a number of senior national leadership roles in health and social care I rather felt I was floundering. The series of coaching sessions that I had with Kate opened my eyes to alternative ways of looking at my challenges, and revitalised my appetite to take on more. Truly inspirational”.
Senior Lecturer, Russel Group University: Kate coached me over a 10 month period to support me with a very difficult work environment and leadership through a period of change and uncertainty. This has been incredibly beneficial, both to my performance at work and to my own wellbeing. Kate is highly experienced and could draw on her expertise to relate to my organisation and the issues I was facing. Kate is very skilled at identifying issues and drawing on models and theories to help analyse situations and find solutions. She has challenged me to think differently and focus on what is important. I’m grateful that my organisation has given me the opportunity to experience this coaching; it has been the most effective form of development I’ve received in the last twenty years.
Senior leader in a FTSE 100 Company: “Whilst I am incredibly proud and humbled by the efforts and achievements of the team I am delighted to feel the coaching lives on and has enabled me to have 'come of age' in my leadership style and the resulting quality of team spirit and relationships with key stakeholders – many thanks again”. Senior Leader, Science and Engineering Organisation: Kate is a true professional and has all the skills and qualities you’d want from a coach. But beyond that she wants to get to know you and piece the puzzle together to find solutions that work holistically in the workplace and outside to enhance your skills. I will miss speaking to Kate regularly, she has been a source of empowerment for me for the past year.
From the MD of a coachee in a FTSE 100 UK company: “Many thanks for the work you have done with [person’s name], I can honestly say I have never seen a bigger change in an individual’s behaviour (for the better!) as a result of a coaching intervention.”
Senior Leader, Private Sector “Kate has been instrumental in my growth and burgeoning success as a leader. She has acted as a guide to make me genuinely reflect and question both what I want from my own career and how I want to support and inspire others. She is incredibly supportive, but is unafraid to ask the difficult questions. With her guidance, I now know what kind of leader that I want to be and I keep that focus everyday. Both my team and my wider organisation are benefiting from Kate's guidance. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”
Coaching with a public sector CEO: “You have made me a better leader and better person and I will always be grateful for the support and help you provided me on my personal journey”.
