Kate is a highly experienced business coach and coaching supervisor. She is a registered with both the British Psychological Society and the Health and Care Professions Council. She works 1-1 with senior leaders in two ways:
1.Executive Coaching
Kate began coaching in the NHS while she ran the national leadership development programme for aspiring Clinical Psychologists between 2000 and 2005. She continued to work with individual coaching clients during her 12 years at ORConsulting and 2 years as Partner at GatenbySanderson, coaching many senior leaders across a wide range of industries and cultures. She is a British Psychological Society registered individual and team coach. Kate has always believed that to coach senior leaders you need senior leadership experience, this led her to seek Board Chair roles and the partner role at GatenbySanderson.
Since Kate is a behaviour change expert her coaching style and method reflects this. She will use psychological tools and models to help you understand your emotions and behaviours, the impact these have on other people and how to change them to have an even more effective impact. Her coaching and facilitative style is empathic, caring and wholly focussed on you. She does bring new information and ideas into the sessions in a way that suits you, working together so that you can use those methods so that these make a big difference to you.
Recent Testimonials :
A Senior Medical Regulator: “Despite having had a number of senior national leadership roles in health and social care I rather felt I was floundering. The series of coaching sessions that I had with Kate Pearlman-Shaw opened my eyes to alternative ways of looking at my challenges, and revitalised my appetite to take on more. Truly inspirational”.
A senior leader in a UK FTSE 100 company: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the coaching sessions both some of the changes I have made in my day to day style but also from a chance to reflect on my style overall and my future goals- you were brilliant and I just wanted to say once more how much I have enjoyed the experience and enjoyed working with you- it was fantastic!”
From a Company Owner: “Thank you, your insights make perfect sense. I feel so much better now”.
Senior leader in a FTSE 100 Company: “Whilst I am incredibly proud and humbled by the efforts and achievements of the team I am delighted to feel the coaching lives on and has enabled me to have 'come of age' in my leadership style and the resulting quality of team spirit and relationships with key stakeholders – many thanks again”. 2.Therapeutic Coaching
Kate practiced clinically from 1987 – 2005 as an NHS Clinical Psychologist working with adults with mental health difficulties where she specialised in cognitive shift, emotional regulation and ultimately behavioural change. As a coach Kate has continued to utilise her core training using Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, Solution Focussed Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (a method of emotional regulation) to help people manage their emotional state at work.
Believing that emotions are the basis of everything and well equipped to support your exploration of these relevant to your workplace, this method of coaching can go deeper than usual forms of coaching.
Kate has maintained her registration both as a BPS registered Clinical Psychologist and with the HCPC.
Testimonial: from the MD of a coachee in a FTSE 100 UK company: “Many thanks for the work you have done with [person’s name], I can honestly say I have never seen a bigger change in an individual¹s behaviour (for the better!) as a result of a coaching intervention. More importantly he appears to be in much better place himself”.
Both types of Coaching are offered both through your organisation and privately.
Coaching supervision
